Over here in the UK the card companies took a client to court for giving a
discount for cash but lost when the Board of Trade stepped in and said that
merchants can make a charge for card use equal but not more than that charges to
them by the card companies. So basically it Legal in the UK to charge but not
to discount - I think Euroland is similar.
