Indeed.

I just looked at my "check" register for September and I wrote exactly 2
checks: One to an electrical contractor who wired a new shop we had built in
the back yard and one to a local auction house which hasn't moved into the
21st century yet.

I live some 65 miles from the nearest branch of the credit union I use for
all banking (well, except for the online deposits where I earn FDIC-insured
5.15% APY!) but all pay is direct deposited and for the small amount of cash
I need, I just use a debit card at Wally World or Food Lion and they happily
provide me with up to $100 over the amount of purchase.

Truly amazing how far and fast we have moved toward a cashless, checkless
society...

checks? how quaint. I pay exactly 1 bill by check each month (rent), plus
the occassional pizza. Papajohns now accpets credit cards for online orders
in my area, so i don't need the check for the pizza anymore.
