Really? Mastercard, Visa, AMerican Express, etc, aren't omnipresent where you are? I can't recall anyplace I visited in Europe (although, I admin, not in the last few years) not taking credit cards... is that a recent change or something?? As for what it is, a 'credit card' is two things: 1) a deferred payment plan 2) just about the worst way to actually make a loan Basically, a credit card is a free, no interest, no cost, 20-30 day loan. But if you go beyond the 20/30 day grace period, you get *HOSED*. So the savvy CC users simply pay their bills [and if they need a loan make *proper* arrangements for getting one]. > And who needs a 1 or 2% discount when you pay by CC if the "discount" has ... been added to the cost to cover the merchant's fee to the CC ... company? That's VERY rare in the US... [and is generally a violation of the merchant account contract provisions for most carriers]. /Bernie\ -- Bernie Cosell Fantasy Farm Fibers mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Pearisburg, VA --> Too many people, too few sheep <-- -- ---------------------------------------- WIN-HOME Archives: http://PEACH.EASE.LSOFT.COM/archives/WIN-HOME.html Contact the List Owner about anything: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Official Win-Home List Members Profiles Page http://www.besteffort.com/winhome/Profiles.html
