Blue Hills Trail
report...
January 31 provided the first fresh snow in
2½ weeks -- 4 to 5 inches of light, fluffy snow.
The entire trail system was packed (rolled) today (February 1). Enough
snow was available to set a striding lane on a significant portion of
the EastSideTrail. This meant fair
to very good conditions
today (February 1) skiing freshly groomed packed powder.
Most trail sections have adequate base, and in many areas you can ski
full out; other areas still have occasional rocks and dirt spots, and
you will need to pick your way. Trail sections with the best conditions
will be posted at the parking lot bulletin board. Plenty of
good skiing available, although rock skis are still recommended.
