On one of those Goenke courses (not zazen, of course) we were up at 4, quickly washed & dressed, then off for an hour's meditation (or was it an hour and a half?) before breakfast. Once into the rhythm, I found it wonderful! Back home, though, it's hard to drag out of bed in the winter in time to sit before running off to catch the bus at 6:35. But my partner's addicted to a soap I don't watch that allows an early evening sitting those days I sleep in. > Do you time the zazen? Yes, with one of those battery operated digital timers.
