Just some random thoughts- Its great to be a part of Zest. This everyday poetic activity hepls me maintain my sanity. Alas, for me Zest is not about publication or going public with my poems, cause i am too uncertain of my skills as a poet and frankly i wish i could be more committed, more careful, more meticulous about my poetry.But i was quite thrilled with the way the mom-pop theme took off. I really loved it. And i daresay poetry as a commercial venture is not the best of profit making industry. Devoid of profit - publishing loses its meaning. Therefore, poetry is essentially a non-commercial creative venture - a bit like theatre or documentary film making - or perhaps like free porn sites all of us search for (just joking!).All poets end up writing at least one birthday poem. Are any of us sharing it here in this group. Again the best of birthday poems has been penned by Dylan Thomas and it was Temp's poem and reference to the October weather which reminded me of this great oeuvre as it had a bit of that tone. Our AB Vajpayee is another for Birthday poems.Ron
