Well, the phrase would be "like a Sophocles selling chips and coke"--
so there would be no inference that Sophocles actually did that.

"like a Sophocles, selling chips and coke" with the comma, would
indicate that Sophocles actually sold chips and coke.  So now we have
proof that commas make a difference!
