After many checks, whenever I move a gadget (pager in this case), then exit e, I get various positions and sometimes I get : group "E_Config_Gadcon_Client" struct { value "name" string: "pager"; value "id" string: "pager.3"; value "geom.pos" int: 954; value "geom.size" int: 0; value "geom.res" int: 0; value "geom.pos_x" double: 0.0; value "geom.pos_y" double: 0.0; value "geom.size_w" double: 0.0145835646298; value "geom.size_h" double: 0.0037037037037037038450515; value "state_info.seq" int: 0; value "state_info.flags" int: 0; value "style" string: "inset"; value "orient" int: 0; value "autoscroll" uchar: 0; value "resizable" uchar: 0; } In most cases, at restart of e, the gadget is not in the last position before exit enligthenment. "copy" or "cut" simply has the source app own the selection - it says it owns it. when you paste the target app you paste in then requests the data from the source app (they negotiate a common format) then the data is transferred. if the original app is gone - this transaction cannot take place as the selection owner is gone and no negotiation and transfer can happen.n this has been x11 selections (and wayland too) ever since day 0. you could try a clipboard manager that basically pasts to itself whenever it sees a new selection owner and then stores this... and it becomes the selection owner... So thank you very much. Do you think that the "missing line" : StartupWMClass=brave-browser is a bug I should report to brave developpers...? it's not a bug - but it helps. since one was browser.desktop then the base name "browser" isn't a sensible thing to match. you probably launched the browser.desktop copy and then e found the window matched brave-browser.desktop through wm class - as someone decided you ca just go renaming a desktop to browser.desktop without consequences - this had problems. so partly it's your fault for using one of the 2 desktops (the wrong one) then expecting everything to work right as well as someone providing the "wrong name" AND not providing a StartupWMClass field to be explicit in which windows this desktop file would match. the app itself (brave) is also not very helpful. the ONLY thing it provides that might be of use is the wm class property. the netwm pid is partly useful- unless you go wrapping things in scripts etc. which i suspect is happening and these scripts don't use exec at the end. better apps provide much more like _NET_STARTUP_ID which is far more accurate than any pid property as this allows a window to be tracked back to a specific launch of something. also providing WM_COMMAND would be helpful as then you have a command-line to try look up a binary with that's in a .desktop file. this isn't provided either. overall brave (and chromium) are not very helpful and provide so little information that if something like your situation happens with multiple desktop files of different names (one of which is poorly named browser.desktop) and not other stuff like StartupWMClass in the desktop .. then finding some way for a wm to go "this window is see here belongs to this desktop file i see over there" becomes hard or impossible. I am sorry I am not enough proficient to fully understand your explanation. I use a 4K monitor and my 800x600 XP windows is very very small, lost in the 4K monitor. I do not want to change my 800x600 size nor my monitor. But I would like to enlarge the XP window so that a XP pixel be mapped on 4 monitor pixels, or even if possible on 2 or 2.5 or 3 pixels. Is it possible with e or an application derived from e...? Thanks for any help ! no - e can't do it. because while the compositor can scale windows... e cant scale input coordinates like the mouse as input events go direct from xserver to app window and e is not involved. you'll need to use scaling inside qemu itself or some other mechanism (spice or other remote display) thus it can scale the input coords at the qemu or display level then Yes, spice is a good solution. ___ enlightenment-users mailing list enlightenment-users@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/enlightenment-users

How to debug this ? you could user bluetoothctl and on the cmdline try connect. also d-feet and use a gui to browse the dbus protocol and run methods like the connect one. you probably won't find the errors very useful though.
