that these chips are interchangeable but I suspect a power supply
problem (sketched above) rather than a broken driver, since broken
driver chips do not tend to repair themselves with temperature.

I have a K3 that has got just a little bit deaf.
It´s like this, on 28 MHz it´s about 17 dB down,
on 24 MHz 13 dB, on 21 MHz 7 dB. 14 MHz and down
just about nothing.
Guess it still can be D25. I will swap it with my
second K3 and start to repair it tomorrow.
If someone has had anything similar

only if I have all parts on my desk, for all parts needed in the design.
Even mundane things like connectors (DC connectors) now yield delivery
time of more than a year out.
So
out "K2 main encoder doesn't work
anymore". There have been issues with other encoders on newer radios but
the main K2 one has been robust. You may want to check the soldering job
done.

t, to many a ham as a general purpose antenna. Simple to construct: as
a dipole, 51 feet each side of center, with 32 feet of 300-Ohm twin-lead
and then 68 feet of coax. It didn't seem to matter much if one used
52-Ohm or 73-Ohm coax. :-)
