Re: [JAWS-Users] Microsoft iCloud

2014-03-25 Thread TheHangMan
Hi,

I'm using Wind 7, J14, IE 11:
Like I stated, I was having a problem getting the Save option to work.
The reason for that iCloud service is to share files, so there got to be a
way to run a Save option.
If, you read my post, I was saying that the MS iCloud (Drive 1) gives you 7
FREE gigs of space, when dropbox only gives you 2 and after you use them up
you have to buy more and it's expensive
I'm going to try with a newer laptop running the same softwear and maybe
I'll get it to work.

Thanks, for your support.../...

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Microsoft iCloud

Hi,

A friend placed some music for me to remove in the website Drive 1, which is
MS iCloud.

I am on the page with all the songs link.

I move to the song links by tabbing.

Then, I uncheck the song and press enter.

A open and save option pops up,

But,there is no save button.

I tried:

Alt N, alt S, control S, alt r, up/down arrow, tab shift tab: nothing is
saving.

A MS short security scan runs and then, says download complete.

I never saved it or gave it a destination location.

This Website was weird and the music is still in the cloud.

This MS iCloud gives you 7 gigs of free space, after you create a account.

This is better than dropbox.

Anyone has any thoughts?

Thanks,

Jorge

To uninstall nova if you are using a windows 7 or 8 computer. First go to
start and then type control panel. Next if you have the view set to show
small icons then go to programs and features. Then select java run time and

Hello Gary:

Thank you for contacting Freedom Scientific Support.

JAWS 15 supports Office 2013. However Microsoft did not put the
accessibility in 2013 that customers are used to in earlier versions of
Office. We are working with Microsoft to solve these issues. But, when you
use Office 2013, you can expect some difficulty. We would recommend Office
2010 at the present time.

If you need to use Office 2013, it is as accessible as it can be under the
circumstances, but not like prior versions of Office.
We are working with Microsoft to resolve these issues.

If you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Hi,
To get a good answer to a question like this, it's important that you also
tell the list what email client you are going to apply the message rule in.
It looks from your message headers that you are using outlook version 14.
(Outlook 2013)? I don't know the program, so will let others who do so
answer as best they can.

Re: [JAWS-Users] installing office 2013

2014-04-30 Thread TheHangMan
Gary,
I just installed Office 2013 from the MS website.
I had the option to install the 32 X or the 64X.
But the 32X was compatible with the 64 machine.
And would work better with all your other programs better than the 64X.
Also, in the future the website said, that you can change from the 32X to
the 64X installation.
The download was fast, that I didn't even realize it happen.

The only way I found out is because I checked the programs services.
I saw it there, so I remove the 2007 out.

I find that Outlook is working better for now.

Man, just take the download, there is a large numbers of members on 2013.

So, whenever FS sends out the new upgrade, you'll be ahead of the game with
2013.

HTH,
Jorge

George,
I have no problem with Office 2010 64X, I have that set up in my other
laptop.
I upgraded from Office 2007 to 2013.I was just saying, the MS website was
recommending the 32X instead of the 64X installationBecause MS said, that it
will be more compatible with the programs you're running.
I, can later on, when all the bug are taken care of, re-install the 64X
version.
From my end so far, looks good, but I haven't played enough yet to see
anything wrong with it.

Can someone tell me what I have to check in Windows 7 to have this info show

Any assistance in the matter would be greatly appreciated.

Press insert + V.

Arrow down through the options and use the spacebar to check and uncheck.

You can change any setting you want, especially the jaws verbosity from
beginner, to intermediate and set it to advance. In advance jaws talks les
stuff that you heard a million times.

We're not just talking about search engines or Web pages here. Google
*Chrome* is a Web *browser*, which the question was about, as distinct from
the google.com and similar Web pages. it is a separate organ. There is of
course nothing essentially wrong with the google search engine, save a few
settings which are optional and can be altered if need be. You do however
need a later version of JAWS to work passably well with Chrome.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] NOTES FOR OUTLOOK 2010 USERS, JUNK FOLDER OPTIONS

Hello group,
I was having an awful time with messages from certain senders ending up in
my Junk folder. I asked for help here but no one seemed to know the answer.

I did receive a hint from another technology list and I thought it might be
good to share it here.

Outlook 2010 has a very capable Junk folder options list. Unlike earlier
versions of this e-mail client, the Junk submenu provides ways to avoid
having certain messages, diverted by the Spam filter, from ending up in the
Junk folder in error.

The Junk menu contains several options for adding people or domains to a
Safe Senders list. That can be done manually if you have the correct e-mail
or web address or it can be done automatically.

1.While in the Junk folder, press the Applications key or Shift F10.
Locate the Junk submenu and press the right arrow to access it.

2. Press the down arrow and review the options which include never
blocking sender, never blocking a domain and so on.

3. The original message will still remain in the folder unless it is
deleted. Those options apply to any subsequent messages sent by a
particular sender or domain.

4. Press Enter on the option that applies best to that particular
message. The software will respond either with a message indicating that
the sender or domain has been added to your Safe Senders list or requesting
that the e-mail identity or domain be added manually.

5. In either case, an Okay button is provided. Press Enter to
confirm the action.

6. If there are several messages from an e-mail list such as
Jaws-Users and you want to move them to the appropriate folder, eliminate
all of the other messages, then highlight all of those from that e-mail
list.

7. Press the Applications key or Shift F10 and choose the Move option.
A list of folders will be offered and you can move all of those messages
into that folder at the same time.

Now that I know how to do this, it seems so simple. But the key is knowing
that such an option exists.
I hope that this information helps someone else with a similar problem.

2014-05-06 Thread TheHangMan
Hello David,
Thank you very much for your reply,
But everything you explain I know well.

I knew this was going to be a hard question to explain...
Once the command is pressed to move the email, you end up in level one of
the treeview folder list.
But, let say, the inbox is closed, you press the right arrow to open, then
you can continue moving down through the folders or to when the next folder
is close.
Then, again you press the right arrow to open to continue on.
When, you locate the folder you want, now you press enter to place the email
into that folder.

David, there is folders in between folders that , if you don't press the
right arrow to open the path to the next folder, you'll are not going to get
there easily.
Even, if you quick nav, if the folder is in between a closed folder, you are
not going to hit bullseye either.

I been using Outlook, since 2008 and that has been the one thing I always
hated about Outlook; the moving through the treeview with closed folder
headings.

I was looking for a key command that would open all the folders paths in the
treeview all at once to avoid thissituation?

Thanks,
Jorge

Hi,
I have used the info below, which I saved from Freedom:
In Outlook 2007 and 2010, the way HTML e-mails are read has been changed by
Microsoft.
In outlook 2010 with JAWS 12 and 13, use the keystroke Insert+shift+w to
read messages in the internet Browser. Again this change was made by
Microsoft.
The keystroke: alt + H +X +V
reads in Outlook 2007. It causes the message to be read from the internet
browser.

When I am going through the List View of my In Box, using Outlook 2010,
Win.7 and JAWS 12, after I enter on a message to read, it usually says
Document something or other. It will announce randomly Document 1 through
Document 12 so far. After that I hear if I have any problems reading, then
I should use the web browser. What I would like to get rid of is the
Document announcement because after this is read, then I must manually go
through the fields again to get to the message, in order to start it to
read. All of these extra steps wastes so much time each day, considering
the volume of e-mail messages I read.

What can I do to eliminate all of this and just start the message reading
at the top normally, without additional confusion?

Thank you for any help.

Office 2010 works great with wind 7 and jaws 14, that is what I'm running in
my other laptop.

In this laptop I migrated from Office 2007 to Office 2013 with the same set
up as the other one.

Well, the program I receive came in a box with a MS card with my key number
on it.
I called Microsoft Accessibility and they help me install Office 2013.
They also saved my PST file and merge all my contacts, email folders and
outlook setting to the new Office 2013.
They configured my computer and looked it over and ran their antivirus as
well.
When, we logged off I got a perfect running PC and my new Office.
I didn't have to do nothing, just log in through the internet and paste my
key number, when it was time.

Hey, that help line is free, might as well use it to your advantage.

HTH,
Jorge

Re: [JAWS-Users] Opening folders in the treeview list

2014-05-06 Thread TheHangMan
Hi,
Actually I did not try the example yet, because everything is much open by
this time in the day.
But, thanks for the heads up.
Moving between the treeview list is easy as Apple pie.

But from the inbox, that's where you run into those close folders that you
have to press the right arrow to get further down the list.

I think, that is just the way it is and you have to live with it.

hello there;

I just want you to know, that was an example;

if your moving a message from the jaws folder for example; you just need to
either arrow to the folder, or simply letter navigate and then press enter.
your not saying that all of the folders are saying closed, are you?

okay;
if your doing a ctrl+shift+v=move, and you are then hearing,

x folder close,
you don't need to right arrow to open unless the folder your seeking, is on
that level.

when you press the move command,
just press the letter, for example,
t=tech,
now just pres enter.
sorry if I don't understand.

if I use the move command, and I hear;
inbox closed,
simply press enter, no need to right arrow, again unless the sub folders are
on that level.

Thanks,
Jorge

1, navigate to the message you wish to move,

2, now press the keystroke,

ctrl+shift+v=move,

3, now you will land into a list of the outlook folders, including any
folders you have created, just letter navigate, example, j for jaws, i
for inbox, c for computer notes, once you've leterr navigated, just press
enter.
no need to have all folders opened.

Hopefully others will chime in, but not being there to troubleshoot, off the
top of my head, I'm going to assume the following possible fix(s)...
Smile.

1. You might have something running in the background or within MSConfig
startup making the computer use lots of processing power when booting up. I
suggest going into MSConfig and unloading what is not essential. I can help
you with this if it is something you would like to try.

2. you might have an issue with your sound card drivers, and this may have
been caused if you have your Windows Updates set to install automatically.
You or someone else may have also accidentally manually installed something
having to do with your soundcard which seemed important. If you have a USB
headset try attaching and booting up your computer. The computer will push
the audio through the USB rather than your speakers--hopefully you won't
hear the stuttering anymore.

3. You might have some dirt and junk making the key stick resulting in the
sending and resending of the signal. The following can cause keys to stick:
ice cream, coffee, soda, etc. You will have to remove the key caps and clean
them out with soap and water. This is simple to do, but can cause a bit of
anxiety since you'll essentially have to forcefully pull the key caps off.
Smile.

4. If this is a new computer, sometimes manufacturers install additional
sound card driver features which are suppose to give you this great audio
experience, but it often causes problems such as echoing for screenreader
users. You will want to check for this too.

The applications key seems to be stuck when booting up the laptop. It

help someone!
On my fairly new lap top for some reason this afternoon, I turn on my
computer and jaws is working fine. I then go to the desk top and enter on
outlook 2010 and for a few seconds jaws is talking. Then it says jaws
unknown file, then it will tell me that Microsoft is not responding.. Then
jaws stops all together, if I close outlook jaws will begin speaking again.

Anyone have any hints on what is going on what I should do?

Lately, Outlook is worse than usual about crashing and I'm occasionally
getting an error message from Word which requires me to reboot the computer
(more about that later). I have thought about reinstalling Office. My
concern is that I have no activations left. That being the case, can I
successfully reinstall it? Will it see that it was previously already
activated on this computer and not require reactivation?

Thanks,

Scott Duck

I am still trying to deal with this issue. I found something while doing a
trouble shoot this program, it gave me that error I already sent to the
list,it also has given me a run program...so I spacebar on that.
Now, I'm stuck, I have 3 choices to pick as follows:

open with protective mode disabled
always open with protectivemode disabled do not open with protectived mode
disabled

Which one of these should I choose?

Reading Pane in Outlook.

The options are to have it on the right of the list of messages [the
default] or at the bottom of the list of messages or, you can have the
reading pane off.
Description: Reading Pane options from View Ribbon.

To turn off the Reading Pane or modify its location:
1. Press Alt+V=View.

2. Press P/N to open the list of Reading Pane options.

3. Press R =Right, B=Bottom, O= Off or N for Options.

Patti
hello;

first of all;
using the keystroke,
ctrl+y=go to folder;
so, ctrl+y=go to folder,
now press i=inbox press enter.
you should now see the messages using the up/down arrow keys.
next, you may consider changing the view menu, so, making sure, reading pane
is set to off, the to-do-bar is turned off.
now, you should be able to use the tab key to cycle between the folder view
and the message view.

hope this helps.

After, you have explain your problem to the tech.

The tech will tell you to type the address below or another address, if the

www.support.me
Next, you will have to download the remote application.

Then, locate the edit box for the 6 digit code to connect to the service,
use your down arrow.
After, you type the 6 digit number the tech will instruct you, press enter.
When, you arrow down locate the name of the tech, press the left arrow, then

No, they don't jerk you around. When you call them the person comes on the
line then asked you your name then asked you what kind of computer problem
you are having. Then they asked you if they can take over your pc and you
have to click a few things as they walk you through it. Then they are logged
on to your pc and they can fix the problem. They then will tell you what
the issue is.

I have used the service many times and have had very good luck with them.
They are all very nolagable.

Give it a try and you will not believe how well it workds.

Go online and download a product called Produkey. It is free, and will

A heading is like describing where you are at the current time and the
following sub menus on what you want to look at, and after a heading, that's
when links, options, menus etc will start to read.
Or like a road sign, then the road divides and goes somewhere.

I hope my description of a heading is helpful.

The iPhone has a lot of headings that just direct you to the next menu or

I just press the key command and it read just fine here, before I send this

[JAWS-Users] Internal wireless switch

2014-08-10 Thread TheHangMan
Hi,

I believe I have this problem with my other laptop because it cannot pick up

The external wireless switch is on.

So, the internal must be off?

but I believe jaws will not speak.

Has anyone on the list ever turn on the internal wireless switch?

Thanks,

I cannot remember, if it was the FN key + F8 or maybe F12.

I did try the device Manager and enter on S for more.
It did take me to a large menu drop down list.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Internal wireless switch

Hi,

I believe I have this problem with my other laptop because it cannot pick up
the wifi signal.

The external wireless switch is on.

So, the internal must be off?

Can some one help?

Using the FN key + F12, or something in that command put you on that menu,
but I believe jaws will not speak.

Has anyone on the list ever turn on the internal wireless switch?

Thanks,

PS-

This is the second time I post this query.

If, you set to read all and press the page up or page down,
The speed will change temporary.

Mike,

What you need first is to make the drinks on that iBarstool a little
stronger and you'll find the keys work with the tilt you'll have (smiles!).
Let me add just one thing that I think Mario brought to our attention and I
looked a little further into maybe what he tried to say.

The Alt, Control plus Page-Up and the Alt, Control plus Page-Down do the
temporary speed change as noted. Actually if you use the Windows Key with
the Alt, Control plus Page-up or the Windows Key with the Alt, Control plus
Page-Down this is what will do the permanent speed change on the fly.

To copy text do the following.

1. Put your focus just in front of what you want to copy. Then hold down
ctl+shift then hit the right arrow key. Every time you hit the right
ctl+arrow
key while holding down the ctl+shift key jaws will announce what word you
have selected. So right arrow until you have everything selected that you
want to copy.
2. Then hold down the ctl key then hit the C key to copy. You should then
hear jaws say copied.
3. Then go to the place where you want to copy the text and put the focus
there. Then hold down the ctl key and hit the V key to paste the text.

Let me know it that works for you.

There are more keys you can use to select more text like a whole line or

The only way I know to add tags to a document is to have Adobe Acrobat. I
do not think it is possible to add tags with Reader.

Hi

If a PDF document is not tagged, Adobe Reader has to process it every time
you open it. If you've chosen the Read the entire document at once, all
pages will be processed every time you open the document. If you have a
large document that you'll be accessing frequently, you might want to do a
save as while in the document and choose text. To move from page to page,
press control+pagedown to go to the next page or control+pageup to go to the
previous page. You can go to a specific page by pressing control+shift+n
and then enter the page number.

I followed your instructions. Does adobe have to process all of the pages
of a document every time you open the file? After opening the file in adobe
reader, I can't figure out how to navagate the pages. Can you help?

Hi

To set accessibility options in Adobe Reader xi, version 11, press alt+e to
open the Edit menu. The second choice from the bottom is accessibility.
Right arrow to open the Accessibility sub-menu, then press enter on Setup
Assistant. You are now in a 5 screen dialog for the accessibility
settings. If you want to change any of the settings, do not press enter on
the Use recommended settings and skip setup button. Instead tab to the next
button and press enter. I sort of remember that in some earlier version of
Adobe Reader, the accessibility settings were in the Tools menu.

To have all pages in a document processed at the same time, regardless of
the document size, press tab to go through screen 2, changing anything you
might want to, until you get to the next button and press enter. Do the
same thing on screen 3 and then press the next button to get to screen 4.
The first item on screen 4 has 3 radio buttons which are only read the
currently visible pages, read the entire document at once and for large
documents only process the currently visible pages. Make sure that Read the
entire document at once is checked. Then tab to the next button and press
enter to go to the last screen. Tab until you reach the Done button and
press enter. On this last screen, I have found it helpful to make sure that
the check box for Display PDF documents in the web browser is unchecked. If
you set the option to Read the entire document at once, The time to process
the entire document will increase as the document size grows. On some large
PDF documents, I've seen it take from 5 to 10 minutes to process the
document.

Hey friends, I have set accessibility options in adobe reader 11 to process
all pages in one go. In some document jaws processes all pages while in
some document it process only visible page. Where it processes only visible
page, it is not possible to find some particular word by find dialogue box
if the word in question is on some other page. What is the solution for it.
I am using jaws 14 with adobe reader 11 latest version in win 7 32 bit.

Nicole,
Maybe, when you resaved it you never gave it a different name and the
original got copied over.
So, that's why you can't locate it.

That doesn't show where the original is located.

I have two coppies of a file. One I re-saved, but I can't find the
original to delete it. How do I find it? Windows 8 with Jaws 15.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Accessibility of Foxit Pdf reader with JAWS

2014-08-23 Thread TheHangMan
Hello John,
Your reply was interesting to read.
I was wondering or can you tell me how you move a PDF document into the
Voice Dream reader app to read a PDF, just to have another option available
for some reason.

Thanks in advance,

Jorge

FoxIt used to be accessible. But changes to the program have made it
inaccessible for at least three years now. If you have an iOS device, by far
the most reliable way to access a PDF document is using the Voice Dream
Reader app. I still use Adobe Reader for short PDF documents, but I now put
longer PDF files into Voice Dream Reader and it makes reading them so much
better.

 Hello gang.
 Using Win8 and JAWS15.
My employer forces us to view certain internal documents I need for my
work, in Foxit PDF reader. Reading these internal PDF's in any other Pdf
 reader is not an option.
My investigation reveals that the PDF documents I can read in Adobe reader

using JAWS cannot be read at all using Foxit reader. Clearly, Foxit reader

appears to be inaccessible to screen readers out-of-the-box.
Are you aware of any scripts or tricks/adjustments, that make documents
opened in Foxit Reader accessible to JAWS?

 Prateek
