Re: [JAWS-Users] Microsoft iCloud
Hi, I'm using Wind 7, J14, IE 11: Like I stated, I was having a problem getting the Save option to work. The reason for that iCloud service is to share files, so there got to be a way to run a Save option. If, you read my post, I was saying that the MS iCloud (Drive 1) gives you 7 FREE gigs of space, when dropbox only gives you 2 and after you use them up you have to buy more and it's expensive I'm going to try with a newer laptop running the same softwear and maybe I'll get it to work. Thanks, for your support.../... I am on the page with all the songs link. I move to the song links by tabbing. Then, I uncheck the song and press enter. A open and save option pops up, But,there is no save button. I tried: Alt N, alt S, control S, alt r, up/down arrow, tab shift tab: nothing is saving. A MS short security scan runs and then, says download complete. I never saved it or gave it a destination location. This Website was weird and the music is still in the cloud. This MS iCloud gives you 7 gigs of free space, after you create a account. This is better than dropbox. Anyone has any thoughts? Gary, I just installed Office 2013 from the MS website. I had the option to install the 32 X or the 64X. But the 32X was compatible with the 64 machine. And would work better with all your other programs better than the 64X. Also, in the future the website said, that you can change from the 32X to the 64X installation. The download was fast, that I didn't even realize it happen. The only way I found out is because I checked the programs services. I saw it there, so I remove the 2007 out. I find that Outlook is working better for now. Man, just take the download, there is a large numbers of members on 2013. Re: [JAWS-Users] installing office 2013
George, I have no problem with Office 2010 64X, I have that set up in my other laptop. I upgraded from Office 2007 to 2013.I was just saying, the MS website was recommending the 32X instead of the 64X installationBecause MS said, that it will be more compatible with the programs you're running. I, can later on, when all the bug are taken care of, re-install the 64X version. From my end so far, looks good, but I haven't played enough yet to see anything wrong with it. Also, in the future the website said, that you can change from the 32X to the 64X installation. The download was fast, that I didn't even realize it happen. The only way I found out is because I checked the programs services. I saw it there, so I remove the 2007 out. I find that Outlook is working better for now. [JAWS-Users] 2013 Outlook Selective contact list
Hi, I found it weird That I lost the Outlook selective list, when I installed Office 2013. even though I save my PST. My contacts, treeview list and settings were good, but my selective was gone. I don't think I did anything wrong or if I did can someone comment, for the next time? You take that list for granted, until you lose it. Hi John, I do not have any problems with the junk folder issues myself. Thanks for those notes. Jorge -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of john Justice Sent: Saturday, May 03, 2014 11:55 AM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: [JAWS-Users] NOTES FOR OUTLOOK 2010 USERS, JUNK FOLDER OPTIONS Hello group, I was having an awful time with messages from certain senders ending up in my Junk folder. I asked for help here but no one seemed to know the answer. I did receive a hint from another technology list and I thought it might be good to share it here. Outlook 2010 has a very capable Junk folder options list. Unlike earlier versions of this e-mail client, the Junk submenu provides ways to avoid having certain messages, diverted by the Spam filter, from ending up in the Junk folder in error. The Junk menu contains several options for adding people or domains to a Safe Senders list. That can be done manually if you have the correct e-mail or web address or it can be done automatically. 1.While in the Junk folder, press the Applications key or Shift F10. Locate the Junk submenu and press the right arrow to access it. 2. Press the down arrow and review the options which include never blocking sender, never blocking a domain and so on. 3. The original message will still remain in the folder unless it is deleted. Those options apply to any subsequent messages sent by a particular sender or domain. 4. Press Enter on the option that applies best to that particular message. The software will respond either with a message indicating that the sender or domain has been added to your Safe Senders list or requesting that the e-mail identity or domain be added manually. 5. In either case, an Okay button is provided. Press Enter to confirm the action. 6. If there are several messages from an e-mail list such as Jaws-Users and you want to move them to the appropriate folder, eliminate all of the other messages, then highlight all of those from that e-mail list. 7. Press the Applications key or Shift F10 and choose the Move option. A list of folders will be offered and you can move all of those messages into that folder at the same time. Now that I know how to do this, it seems so simple. But the key is knowing that such an option exists. I hope that this information helps someone else with a similar problem. Hello David, Thank you very much for your reply, But everything you explain I know well. I knew this was going to be a hard question to explain... Once the command is pressed to move the email, you end up in level one of the treeview folder list. But, let say, the inbox is closed, you press the right arrow to open, then you can continue moving down through the folders or to when the next folder is close. Then, again you press the right arrow to open to continue on. When, you locate the folder you want, now you press enter to place the email into that folder. David, there is folders in between folders that , if you don't press the right arrow to open the path to the next folder, you'll are not going to get there easily. Even, if you quick nav, if the folder is in between a closed folder, you are not going to hit bullseye either. Hi, I have used the info below, which I saved from Freedom: In Outlook 2007 and 2010, the way HTML e-mails are read has been changed by Microsoft. In outlook 2010 with JAWS 12 and 13, use the keystroke Insert+shift+w to read messages in the internet Browser. Again this change was made by Microsoft. The keystroke: alt + H +X +V reads in Outlook 2007. It causes the message to be read from the internet browser. Hi Shoshana, Office 2010 works great with wind 7 and jaws 14, that is what I'm running in my other laptop. In this laptop I migrated from Office 2007 to Office 2013 with the same set up as the other one. Well, the program I receive came in a box with a MS card with my key number on it. I called Microsoft Accessibility and they help me install Office 2013. They also saved my PST file and merge all my contacts, email folders and outlook setting to the new Office 2013. They configured my computer and looked it over and ran their antivirus as well. When, we logged off I got a perfect running PC and my new Office. I didn't have to do nothing, just log in through the internet and paste my key number, when it was time. Hey, that help line is free, might as well use it to your advantage. 800-936-5900 HTH, Jorge -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of shoshana hathaway Sent: Tuesday, May 06, 2014 8:30 AM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] E-mail in Outlook 2010 is being read abnormally Hi, I finally found the information on the version of Outlook I'm using, and it looks like it's Outlook 2006. Smile. 1. You might have something running in the background or within MSConfig startup making the computer use lots of processing power when booting up. I suggest going into MSConfig and unloading what is not essential. I can help you with this if it is something you would like to try. 2. you might have an issue with your sound card drivers, and this may have been caused if you have your Windows Updates set to install automatically. You or someone else may have also accidentally manually installed something having to do with your soundcard which seemed important. If you have a USB headset try attaching and booting up your computer. The computer will push the audio through the USB rather than your speakers--hopefully you won't hear the stuttering anymore. 3. You might have some dirt and junk making the key stick resulting in the sending and resending of the signal. The following can cause keys to stick: ice cream, coffee, soda, etc. You will have to remove the key caps and clean them out with soap and water. This is simple to do, but can cause a bit of anxiety since you'll essentially have to forcefully pull the key caps off. Smile. 4. If this is a new computer, sometimes manufacturers install additional sound card driver features which are suppose to give you this great audio experience, but it often causes problems such as echoing for screenreader users. One of these folders has gotten too large; it takes me too long to locate a certain book. I want to make two folders instead of one and have half the files in each folder. Again these are files on a network drive. Is there a relatively painless way to select a large number of files and move them into a new folder? To do it a couple at a time would take forever. Hey Guys, I want a double drink too. If, you set to read all and press the page up or page down, The speed will change temporary. The Alt, Control plus Page-Up and the Alt, Control plus Page-Down do the temporary speed change as noted. On this last screen, I have found it helpful to make sure that the check box for Display PDF documents in the web browser is unchecked. Re: [JAWS-Users] Multiple Copies of a file
Nicole, Maybe, when you resaved it you never gave it a different name and the original got copied over. So, that's why you can't locate it. Re: [JAWS-Users] Accessibility of Foxit Pdf reader with JAWS
Hello John, Your reply was interesting to read. I was wondering or can you tell me how you move a PDF document into the Voice Dream reader app to read a PDF, just to have another option available for some reason. But changes to the program have made it inaccessible for at least three years now. If you have an iOS device, by far the most reliable way to access a PDF document is using the Voice Dream Reader app. I still use Adobe Reader for short PDF documents, but I now put longer PDF files into Voice Dream Reader and it makes reading them so much better. Using Win8 and JAWS15. My employer forces us to view certain internal documents I need for my work, in Foxit PDF reader. Reading these internal PDF's in any other Pdf reader is not an option. My investigation reveals that the PDF documents I can read in Adobe reader using JAWS cannot be read at all using Foxit reader. Clearly, Foxit reader appears to be inaccessible to screen readers out-of-the-box. Are you aware of any scripts or tricks/adjustments, that make documents opened in Foxit Reader accessible to JAWS?
