Didn’t even know that. Sorry for that.

For my own documents I would insert a pagebreak there.

Description: application/lyx
The attached file should do nothing to the contents of the file.
Except that latin characters are all declared as being English, like it
is done in the corresponding Hebrew files.
This is to improve the on screen appearance in the editor where those
words would also display RTL otherwise.
This was

First of all, as shipped with 2.3 ar-shortcuts does not compile, because
it errors on:
Missing character: There is no ⇥ in font
Scheherazade/OT:script=latn;language=D
Missing character: There is no ⇤ in font

File ended while scanning use of \shortcut.

The Arabic tutorial seems to be unfinished:
Non-arabi text passages aren't properly declared as foreign, thus being
also displayed in LyX RTL. "egapnam" and XYL as examples.
Further it does not compile.
The log file does not show errors, only warnings.
Last lines of the log:

Don't get me wrong here: Please, do not export all of them back to

But is there something like just a lyx2lyx
If we will have to stick with the current choice for intro.lyx and
tutorial.lyx – Palatino, Helvetica and Courier, then there is still room
for improvement:
Harmonize the x-heights.
An example for mixing Palatino and Helvetica is found here:

The attached file is from 2.2.3.
There are two changes activated in document settings:
"use true smallcaps" for Palatino and "break hyperlinks over lines".
Both help with two lines violating the margings and improve the look of
the output in general.
Most of the other stuff is minor cleanup hunted
In the French intro.lyx there are several margin violations.
Some could be fixed by activating true small caps.
Some need slight rearrangements.
One attempt to fix this is in the attached file

There is just one chktex error in the English intro.lyx:
A wrong length of dash in 3.1.1
"detailed descriptions are preferred – the more time developers have"
There is one margin violation.
That will be fixed miraculously by activating true small caps.

On visual inspection there were some more of these.
Please ignore the earlier file.

The Italian intro.lyx seems to have some issues with words running
together if there is a change of language or style.
This should fix most of those incidents.

The default settings for that document as shipped for 2.2.3 is nearly
unusable when compiled; worst on a mac.
The tables tend not to violate the margins but running clean off the
page altogether.
This could be mitigated by not indenting the paragraph
