thought I'd offer my 2 cents worth regarding Talking Book players.
Regarding the Victor Reader Stream? Well I doubt I'll be getting one as the
machine offers me nothing whatever I don't have accept for an extra hole
try and pair the logetec to the booksense?

The stream does not say there is a softpack because it is in the firmware
now. It comes with the stream. I also had the same question. But called
humanware and they said the softpack is no longer needed with the new

inadequate search feature. On the other hand it is a newer technology with a
better USB interface and more ROM to expand the programing. Personally I can't
see why anyone would switch to another player if you

important they are, perhaps someone on here can tell us what

For me the stream is the unit I will continue to use because of the
American voices you can at least use a UK voice with the stream. Not so
with the booksence as far as I'm aware.

I'm only one person, if the price is reasonable - say $50.00 up to $100 - and
the feature set is rich then I'll certainly consider what Humanware has to
offer, I don't think the Victor Reader Stream is an expensive machine given
what it does and its design but what does annoy me somewhat
this
happened. Anybody have any ideas?

I have both and the stream is a little more stable. It seems to hold
bookmarks without a fault, but not so with the Book Sense. I put my
textbooks on Victor and pleasure reading on the Book Sense.

Okay, I don't have a Book Sense but I do have a Victor reader Stream.
One thing I like about the Stream is that all prompts and messages are
recorded in human voice rather than having to rely on a software voice
synthesiser so you won't miss any alerts, prompts or errors which Victor
booksense transfers are much faster to mac and vise versa.

With a card reader and the Companion software, I think transferring
files to the VRS is quite easy. I use a PC, so that's probably why
it is so, as I'm not sure if the Companion software works on a mac.

transfer and you shouldn't have to do that, you shouldn't have to use
software to convert the audio format to something standard either and -
most of all - you shouldn't have to purchase a memory card reader
