Claudio. The limiter in your camcorder will have clipped the sound waveform quite severely and you may never completely get rid of the distortion.
I suggest that you'd probably be better attempting to repair the audio in Adobe Audition, which has a comprehensive set of tools to help you maybe reduce the over all peak level and "round off" the flattened tops of the peaks that are causing the distortion. If you don't have Audition or don't fancy the expenditure, there are some earlier version of "Cool Edit" available cheaply, which is the forerunner of Audition before Adobe bought it and it should be adequate for the job you need to do. Matching the audio back to the video timeline should be quite straightforward in APP2, provided that you don't alter the length of the audio clip before you import it.
