I guess I would be concerned by impacting the SNR on the CPE while
trying to qualify the signal. If your WiFi pack is interfering with the
CPE, wouldn't you get a false throughput test while standing next to it?

Sure, but you're just aligning signal. The signal to the phone should
be strong enough that you can get the align tool to load and the
signal to the CPE should be strong enough that it can associate. It's
never been an issue for us.
