This email list has great potential. I'm not really the moderator type, I just didn't want to see the list die. If we have a "world class" AGI individual that wants to step up and clean house just contact Ben and/or I. Even if that means my own random blurbs getting censored so be it :) Personally, my feelings are and I'll repeat this for the last time, I don't see a problem with this list with myself being a non-academic/non-establishment anti control-freak. Too often good things die before they flourish from people that feel and are accustomed to squelching out any sort of appearance of disorganization or disarray. IMO the inception of many new technologies are similar to the beginnings of trends in art and fashion. They originate in the places least expected. Then once they start, after a while, the establishment tries to take control and credit. AGI or various forms of early AGI are still in this inception stage. I see the difficulty in building AGI lies mostly in the way we have been trained and forced to think. "We" meaning the generally and forcefully indoctrinated and academically trained techno-sheeple populace. How will "we" consciously and voluntarily build a system that replaces ourselves? Naturally it is going to be very difficult :) John ------------------------------------------- AGI Archives: https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/303/=now RSS Feed: https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/rss/303/21088071-c97d2393 Modify Your Subscription: https://www.listbox.com/member/?member_id=21088071&id_secret=21088071-2484a968 Powered by Listbox: http://www.listbox.com
