Brier also seems mystified by phenomenal consciousness (qualia). Do you have any comments on my previous post where I explained why we evolved to believe that such a thing exists? Do you understand or agree with my explanation of how this belief works? As for the previous paper on deontical impure systems being nonsense: a paper will normally state a hypothesis, why it is important, and then describe new experimental evidence to support (or not support) it. I cannot tell what hypothesis this paper is trying to claim, much less find any supporting evidence for anything. Nor do I see how it relates to consciousness (which is not something the author claims anyway). -- -- Matt Mahoney, [email protected] ------------------------------------------- AGI Archives: https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/303/=now RSS Feed: https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/rss/303/21088071-f452e424 Modify Your Subscription: https://www.listbox.com/member/?member_id=21088071&id_secret=21088071-58d57657 Powered by Listbox: http://www.listbox.com
