> If you put ads in your app, everyone would benefit: I am totally put off by the ads that appear in mobile apps. There are so many scams (mobile consumables) and other things that are unsavory that I prefer to give the app away for free than earn money by stealing from people, even indirectly. How many ringtone, quiz and other similar ripoffs have you seen on mobile advertising? I've seen too many and don't want them associated with my apps.
I get enough impressions (about 2,00,000 a month) that mobile advertising services contact me directly. For each one I've said "sure, just drop the mobile consumables and trashy ads and I'm on board." that always ends the conversation. Mobile consumables constitute over 60% of the ad revenue and the most lucrative part of the business. A good part of the rest aren't "family friendly." Maybe things have changed recently but from what I learned a few months ago, they are still the king of mobile. -John Coryat -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Discuss" group.
