We seem to be discussing them now. :) Yes, I think it should be possible to merge the VA pseudo-artist with an actual ALBUMARTIST "Various Artists". How to do that is the only thing to figure out. My idea would be to have an additional option in "My Library" for an album artist name (or better yet, multiple names) that would be recognized in tagging as the VA. Then we wouldn't have more than one compilation album artist when sorting albums by artist. This would be a separate option from "When compilation albums are grouped together, they appear under "Various Artists" by default. You can change that name below." The existing option is merely a display string. Let's say someone sets these server options: When compilation albums are grouped together, they appear under "Various Artists" by default. You can change that name below: > Compilations Album artist names that designate compilation albums: > Various Artists;Various;Some random people When any of these names are seen in the ALBUMARTST tag, the album would be marked a compilation and the album artist role would be assigned to the VA pseudo-artist rather than a real artist name.
