Ya know, this group never ceases to amaze. Discussions on Helmholtz
resonators! Do tell.

Cheers!

there's even someone who posts here on occasion who designed an intake
resonator for a rather low production Mustang special (Neil D, Cobra R).

dunno whether we have an R in the garage, will have to go check

My chebby truck has one on the stock intake. On the aftermarket intake
there wasn't one and the booming at 3K rpm was insane. Stock one went back
on.

I think those little wings that some people think are a handle on the stock
E36 airboxs are HRs.

I can't contribute much except the same jealous pangs as everyone else, but
I did get into the pits back in '01 for a short walkabout on practice day
armed with a camera.

a local friend of ours in Detroit goes one better - he gets to do actual tech
inspection of the cars & watch when they do stuff like tear down transmissions
to ensure they don't mess with the motors when they're not allowed to. it's
apparently very cool shiite.

Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

Does anyone know where to source the e30/e36 barrel connectors
as shown in the photos below? My washer fluid connector is shot
and I'd like to put new rubbery connectors on instead of
splicing/hacking
the old brittle ones that lead to the wire breaking off in the first
place.
If not I'll strip them down a bit and solder/heatshrink.

These look like they could be used in many other areas like the coolant
level sensor plug and the fan as shown.

Maybe an inner circle member can help me out.

Thanks,

Hmmzz those are from the infamous aux fan switch rewiring that a lot of
E30 M3s require at some point (exhaust heat causes it). I purchased
mine from a dealership and there is a BMW part number for it, no I
don't know the number but an E30 M3 SIG archives search could turn it
up (an no don't ask me for my SIG archives password either). You get a
bag of wires and connectors but pay way too much for it. It would be
worth seeking an alternative IMO.

Chris, you can buy a kit of these from BMW. They sell lengths of
wire with the connector attached, ready for splicing. I don't have a
part number, but I'm sure a good parts dude at the dealer has dealt
with them before and can dig up the number in quick order.

GREAT! I was about to go search through my site and find the path to those
pictures and reply, but alas, you've beat me to it!

Awesome! I'm glad my site was of help to someone. :) That gives me motivation
to actually finally finish the site and all my writeups.
...especially the one for the infamous sunroof inner cover sliding around and
not moving back those few inches when the sunroof is vent-tilted....

I'm too detail-oriented (read: perfectionist) and it takes me forever to finish
this stuff. I'll just have to trim down on the details, I *guess* you guys are
smart enough to figure it out. ;)

Getting set to flush my power steering (I have a new reservoir, and also hoses
to same and a return pipe with cooling coils [existing is badly corroded,
while I'm in there WTF]). I can find no place that tells me the capacity of
the system. How much replacement fluid do I need?
