I could be talking from the moon, but I remember comments posted to this list
from HW staff to the effect that, because of an unexpectedly large demand for
the mPower, and in particular the transplant, there weren't enough parts
manufactured in order to prevent a back log. I'm sure this won't soothe the
anger much, but it may help to explain why it is we have to wait. I asked when
I would get the call, (this was back in October), and was told it would
probably happen in November or December. I still haven't gotten the call, and
every time I called HW to inquire how things were going, I was told there were
parts out of stock and a huge back log of units in need of transplants and
other work. Having had the privilege of working with another mPower since last
Fall, I can entirely sympathize with everyone's impatience and frustration, but
not the anger. Maybe I have too many other things to worry about, or maybe I'm
just too passive and wimpy. But, if anyone gets so angry with the long wait
that they actually make the call and cancel the order, this will be a great
sadness for that unfortunate customer. It really is more than worth the wait,
truly!

Hello Virgie,
I would say to you, hang in there.
I don't know and won't pretend to know why they are taking so
long, but I would say that when the origional transplant took
place, back in October, they were doing very well on the braille
keyboards side but the qt keyboards were going slower.
I would only imagine, that things have been delayed in New
Zealand, because of all that has happened lately.
It is a very good product, and though I have had some issues
Humanware has worked with me, and they have fixed the problem and
the next release from what I have been told, will be taking care
of that, so they really do try to work with people.
It might seem like it is taking forever, but as I said, hang in
there, and you will get yours soon.
Robert
