I just sent mine in for a new battery. They told me it should take two to three weeks. It left here Thursday evening, so we'll see how long it really takes.

Hi Jim and friends,

So there really isn't any harm in letting someone else work to change the battery in the BrailleNote? I would so much rather have someone local do it, and last I new we do have a Batteries Plus in our city. They can make the exact battery you need, and, I wonder if they might even be able to make a better one. Well, I'm trying to be a lot more careful with my battery in the BrailleNote now. I've had it a year, and hope to use this battery a lot longer. The one time I'd really want to replace it would be if I went somewhere for a couple of days where I wouldn't have access to electricity. But it's nice that the battery charges up so fast, as I could possibly do it in an airport. And the car converters would probably work too, right? I hope that Humanware will realize the terrible problems we BrailleNote users have when we have to be without our units for six to eight weeks to replace a battery. What were they thinking?

Linda

Hey, Linda, and all, I had the batteries in my voicenote
m-power replaced this past March by Batteries Plus a chain of stores. maybe you can find one in your area. If you want, write me off list and I will give you the contact info in my area for the Batteries Plus in Dublin, California that is, or you can just call information and get it for them. Nevertheless, in my case, the replacement worked fine. Only thing is, you have to be sure and Turn Off BlueTooth, Before you do the recalibration. The cost was approx $54 whereas HumanWare will charge you, well let's just say, a whole lot more money! Good luck! Jim
