The only thing HW seems to hurry for these days is to get your money, forget
timely service.

Subject: Re: [Braillenote] Battery life and replacement

So, is it really taking 6 to 8 weeks for a BN to be serviced
these days? Well, grin, unless it is a BNPK being sent away, and
I've heard about those taking up to three months to be fixed.
But, actually, isn't 2 or 3 weeks kind of a long time just for a
battery replacement?

Also, I heard folks talking on the list a while back about those
of us in the United States now having to send our units to Canada
for repair type work. I had actually forgotten about that HW
change, so had to go to the web site to refresh my memory. So,
how does that work, meaning for folks in the States to ship their
BN to Canada? I saw that the article on the HW site talked about
the repair address being a United States one. So, do we just
ship to that address and don't really notice much difference?

Other than that initial battery problem some of the mPower units
had a few years ago, I've not sent my unit back for anything
else. But, when I sent it back that time, it was gone less than
a week. True, that was a design issue that HW needed to fix, but
they moved things quite quickly then to get the BN back to me.
