Hi Guys,

I have a general question. I've been tweaking my grinder for Black Cat
(decaf) and have been getting what I would consider great shots for a
range of settings. The best parameters I've come to thus far are the
following:

-15 g Black Cat (decaf)
-using a triple basket in a bottomless portafilter*
-obtain a 2 ounce shot by weight in 25 seconds.

Does that sound about right? Or should I be aiming for a 30 second
extraction? Coffee tastes remarkable and the crema is a uniformly dark
brown in color. I guess I should intentionally overextract one cup to
see where I am in the extraction profile.

*My reason for using the triple basket for what is essentially a
double shot's worth of coffee bean by weight is that there is less
mess using my doserless Mazzer. The triple basket easily contains the
15g coffee with little or no mess.

Thanks,

Joe
