Then you don't have the right vice grips. :) Seriously, though, the big ones will grip deeply enough and will not strip. But I'm talking serious force to apply them. Adjust to as hard as you can to squeeze them, close them, then open and tighten the adjuster more, squeeze, repeat until you can't physically squeeze them shut. Then call your strongest friend to come tighten them more. Then and only then try to turn it free, with heat as described. Remember to try to tighten a bit too. And they have to be a good set of vice grips with sharp jaws. Best of luck, Ben
