Everyone,

I don't know about everyone's experience with the google mailing list,
but in my opinion it doesn't meet our requirements, specially the
users.

The majority of threads in the User's mailing list is "How do I do X?"
and then someone posts a solution.
The problem with this is that we have no idea what the question is
about until we read it and if the solution is correct or not.
Begin able to tag questions per topic (same way SO does it) and mark
them as solved is essential for any support system (like it or not the
users mailing list is our support system) , Actually people to get
around this limitation have started using the title of the post as a
tagging mechanism eg [MonoRail] or [ActiveRecord].

This limitation is also creating a lot of repeated questions/answers,
if you don;t believe me do a bit of browsing on the users mailing
list.

So, I would like to turn this thread into a voting one, and propose
that we cast a vote to change mailing list to something that better
meets our requirements and in turn give out Users/Clients a better
experience.

+1 from me

Cheers
John
