Hmmm ... sounds like we agree then.  So I'm confused as to why you'd
advocate government intervention in the Universities?  If the concept
is competition in education, I can see High School being a more
generic offering.

But college should be wide open.  No matter what the parents say their
kid can do whatever the hell he wants by claiming independence or
otherwise.

So let the student make the decision.  If StateU is known for having
too many conservative zealots, then kids who don't want that won't go.

18 is the time to start telling kids to make their own decisions, not
coddle them more.
