They've just recently changed their tune.  As a matter of fact, CNN.com ran
a story about their revised diet recommendations yesterday or the day
before.  I've seen quite of few people with good amounts of lost weight with
this diet.  I lost around 25 lbs with it before.  

I just read a newsweek article yesterday though that said that Atkins had it
mostly right.  They recommend that you also have natural carbs in your diet
also.  Instead of white bread, wheat bread.  In place of the bagel in the
morning, wheaties or bran cereal.  It all has to do with the glycemic index
of foods.  Here's a link to the story.
