Steve, I doubt it's a question of approaching an upper limit, but if you have approximately 3K bookmarks, it's not surprising that they take some time to load, depending upon your internet connexion and the capacity of your machine. What you are experiencing corresponds pretty well with what I see with approximately 1/3 as many bookmarks as you and with an ADSL connexion with a nominal downstream speed of 8Mbits/ s....
