I don't have a problem with pet owners having a vote. I have great respect
for pet owners and I do realize and appreciate that pet owners spend years
caring for the dogs that we are producing. However, I have a problem with
the opinions that I have heard expressed by pet owners concerning the AKC
issue. I believe that misinformation runs rampant through the pet owner
population. Not just you....many other pet owners as well. I've attending
meetings in both clubs. Where did I hear health testing discussed the most?
ACKCSC. Who has recently taken steps to educate judges as to how a dog
should be presented in the ring? ACKCSC. Which club has a limit on how old
a boy must be before he is bred? AKC Which code of ethics has the most
strongly worded encouragement to health test your breeding animals? ACKCSC
in my opinion, although it is is certainly just a matter of opinion. Which
club makes visits to breeders premises? AKC Which club requires DNA
testing on frequently used stud dogs? AKC Which club requires a permanent
form of identifying imports? AKC Which membership application quizzes the
applicant about what breeds of dogs they are breeding and have bred in the
past? ACKCSC Which membership application inquires about how many litters
you have produced in the past? ACKCSC And last but certainly not
least.......which club is it that is inspecting puppy mills and fining puppy
millers? Certainly not the CKCSC. Myra
