IF there was such a thing as the possibility of a professionally
mediated settlement between the clubs, then perhaps that might be an
agenda item. But without professional help and neutrality of sentiment,
this will probably be a long time coming if ever.
As an attorney, I would highly recommend that the boards of both
organizations consult a professional mediator and dispense with the rest
of the posturing. Once an agreement was reached by both organizations,
THEN a membership vote could be called for by each club. At that point
there would be something concrete before the voting members which would
spell out exactly that on which they were voting and leave nothing to
speculation or persuasion by voting blocks. Pet owners could see
exactly what had been negotiated by their boards and vote to embrace or
reject that settlement.
I'd hate to see another vote which asked the wrong question or gave
rise to speculation and unfounded concerns.
