The AKC parent club had better be interested! Both clubs, if they are looking out for the welfare of the breed, should be VERY interested!
This is our breed's future! We have to stop thinking about the past and focus on the future. I see nothing that indicates this will not pass. The only way it wouldn't is if the membership is fed a bunch of misconceptions. We must simply not let that happen! These misconceptions will be most hurtful to our beloved Cavaliers. Any person who attempts to feed misconceptions to the CKCSC membership in an attempt to steer them away from resolving this issue is not considering the welfare of the breed. They would be ignoring the great need for genetic diversity. They would be ignoring the great damage that is being done to the entire breed by keeping this split, this anomosity, going on for years. And if they don't understand that damage is being done, they had better step back and take another good look because IT IS! A *mediation* of sorts is a great way to avoid misconceptions being fed to the CKCSC membership. We really should consider this option SERIOUSLY! Shouldn't we? Or don't we care about the welfare of the breed *enough*? Do we consider other issues *more important*? IS any other issue more important than the future welfare of our breed?
