Judy, Thanks very much for the information about the 1994 vote. It was certainly unfortunate that the ballot issue was whether or not to turn over the stud book rather than whether or not to be the parent club. However it is clear that with only 119 yes votes the majority of breeders in CKCSC at the time voted against turning over the stud book. There were over 300 registered kennel affixes at the time. And many kennels have at leat two voting members. So at the very least there was a potential of 400 plus votes from breeders. Pretty clearly half of the membership did not vote. So it is time to lay to rest the myth that pet owners were responsible for the outcome. These are obviously important issues since a vote of the CKCSC membership appears slowly to be coming about on opening the book for AKC dogs. Tom Faulkner
