Hi All,

Does anyone have a recommendation for a dog carrier on wheels? I
ordered the Sherpa one but it was too large to fit under an airline
seat. Maybe it is just me with a bad back but I find it nearly
impossible to carry my Cavalier in a Sherpa throughout an airport and
end up letting him walk until I am busted by security in the terminal.
Any suggestions for easier transport?

Thank you,
Deborah

Nancy and all, yes I've usually found it quite easy for travel with the
Cavaliers as well. However, there are instances when it is not always
easy.......it is totally dependent on the personnel, especially the ones
at the ticket counter. Usually, by the time you get past the ticket
counter you're home free. But, I've had a couple of instances where
there was a problem. One time it was at the New Orleans Airport. The
ticket agent was new.....questioned carrying the dog in-cabin.....called
someone else....they weren't sure either....called someone else. Then
they all three "decided" that the dog could not stand up in the bag and,
therefore, would not be allowed to fly in-cabin. I was flying first
class and I cried and carried on as much as anyone. No way would they
agree. They loaned me a crate and my dog had to fly in
cargo.........what made matters worse was it was a connecting flight, so
the dog had to be removed from one plane and taken to another. I did
write and complain to the airline later and was sent a certificate for
10,000 miles toward my mileage club.

Reason I'm giving details here is........I totally believe one should be
as discreet as possible. There are always agents that are either
uninformed or don't like dogs. I never, ever take the dog out of the
bag except going through X-ray. If possible, at the ticket counter, try
and quickly let them look at the bag if they ask and then move it behind
the counter next to your feet.
