First, you don't need to monitor at the 'battery' level, you want to
monitor (and charge, and consume) at the 'bank' level.

I have 8 batteries in my house bank and that's ALL I monitor with my
Link 1000 - which only has capacity to monitor one bank. (Actually,
it will give me voltage on the starting bank/battery but that's all,
because there's never any draw on the starting battery so why bother
monitoring it?).

If you move to dedicated house and starting "banks" which I would
highly recommend, a Link that only measures one bank will do just fine
- because if you have no draw on your starting battery other than
starting, why bother monitoring?

If you want a great description of how to set this up, read Calder's
chapter on batteries in Boatowners' Mechanical and Electrical Guide.
(And if you don't yet own the book, get a loved one to buy it for you
for Christmas. You'll be so glad you did. )
