@DanielLeens Fixed in 8714c91bb. Reader progress reporting no longer blocks the metrics-backup thread while waiting for transport. Only one report can be outstanding per worker; failures and cancellation release the gate. All 19 focused tests passed on Java 8 and 11. Restoring the blocking wait reproduced the timeout, and restoring the fix passed again. Checkpoint state and the public CDC model are unchanged.
