As for dishwashing, I put the board of my Colour Classic in a short wash cycle, used some canned air afterwards, then left it for 24 hours to make sure that it was dry (it's the sockets you have to concentrate on) and it worked fine. Don't use heat. My Fisher & Paykel dish-drawer model uses a fan instead of a heat element for drying, I haven't tried the process in a normal dishwasher, but most have an option to turn of the heater element and use only the heat of the final rinse cycle. Others could comment here.

thanks for your help, Jim.
I've actually glanced at the technical/repair manuals for both the Plus
and the Classic II. While both have good and detailed information on CRT
safety and discharging, neither has accurate descriptions of the specific
problems I've been having. There are similarities to several documented
issues, but no dead-ringers. I was reading back in this mailing list's
archive, and noticed that folks have had a lot of success actually
DISHWASHING the motherboard. Think this might help my situation? Is
dishwashing the power board an option, or just the motherboard? What's a
good method of drying the board after washing it to prevent any further
potential damage?
This is not the first forum I have inquired about this issue. So far,
there has been no one who has ever experienced the symptoms my Classic II
exhibits. :(
