Hi, Mary, I honestly have never heard anything about using foil on the baking pans being a fire hazard in gas stoves. I have done it for years. the thing the gas men who have come out to check my oven with equipment to see if temperature is accurate have stated never to use those foil oven liners at the bottom of ovens to catch drips and spill overs. they tend to block the holes on each side where the gas comes through, and can ruin your stove. can you check your manufacturer's manual? Like I said, never heard foiling a pan or cooky sheet could cause a fire!

I have never had any problems with it, though I have a friend who says that nobody should bake things in the oven using foil because it can be a fire hazard. I don't know what to believe, because I've never had issues. Please share your feedback.
