Microsoft works hard to maintain the cult following among engineers with the recent efforts to "proselytize" among those, who should "get it". The question remains: "why should they get it, if the corporation remains about the 'developers, developers, developers, developers' ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KMU0tzLwhbE - if you have never seen Steve Ballmer chanting "developers", you should)?".
