I agree too that the design process is not a matter of secret; I think
it's a matter of commitment to what are in many cases very simple
methods (processes...whatever word that will get the least amount of
yelling on this list) that have been shown to be useful/productive.
It's not ignorance (we all seem to think it's not secret), so it must
be indifference.

I think the quote that Dan put out about "Our beliefs and our
attention are the same fact." points to this. An organization can
start with the values, beliefs, etc as pointed out above, but I think
the hard part (for us not working at one of these places) is trying to
hold to your commitments, and find a way through with them in the many
cultures in the business world where it didn't start out that way.

I would love to hear from people that have found good ways to do this
that could be useful by us not novices in the ideas, but novice in the
getting buy in to get to actually use the ideas (I realize someone may
respond with saying just go read the whole archive of this list...).
Maybe someone can point to their favorite very actionable article on
building momentum towards these beliefs (i.e. beliefs grounded in
action).
