I can probably shed some light on this kind of stuff, but I seriously doubt GD execs would make themselves available for questions. Some quick facts: - GD is the #1 domain registrar in the world, and their portfolio of products and such is more than twice the size of its closest competitor (which, I believe, is Register.com) - GD is also one of the most successful hosting companies in the world, if not #1 (it's been a while, so I don't remember if they were #1 there or not) - Two of their top 3 selling products are WebSiteTonight and Quick Shopping Cart. Don't remember the third one. Both these products, aside from being sold individually, are sometimes included as bonus products in various package deals. - All their apps are web-based - The company offers a wide variety of apps, including webmail, site optimization tools, blog and podcasting tools, etc. If you can muddle your way through their ridiculously complicated software, you can run an entire business without ever hiring a designer or developer. Of course, everything you put out would be sub-par, but let's face it, this is good enough for many people. I'm not interested in taking part in the competition, but I'd be happy to be a judge, and answer questions along the way. I still have very good relationships with several people there, so it's possible I could even get the winning design into the hands of a Director or three. I can't say it would go anywhere, but it would be interesting to see what happens. -r- ________________________________________________________________ Welcome to the Interaction Design Association (IxDA)!
