April 6, 2005 Go Home And Tell Read: Luke 8:26-39 Return to your own house, and tell what great things God has done for you. —Luke 8:39 Bible In One Year: 2 Samuel 9-12 Two young men had been friends from childhood. One was a Christian, the other was not. The second man was about to embark on a long ocean voyage, and the believer felt the urge to speak to him about Christ before he left. "I'll do it on the way to the dock," he promised himself. But when they reached the dock, he still hadn't done so. He went on board to say goodbye, and thought, "When we bring the baggage to his room, I'll speak to him." But the porter took the trunks and suitcases, so they did not visit the stateroom. Finally he said to himself, "I'll be sure to witness to him in some quiet place before the ship departs." Suddenly, however, there came the announcement that all visitors must leave. Two months later word came that the man had died overseas. In Luke's gospel, we read of a man possessed by many demons who had been wonderfully restored by Jesus. In gratitude to the Lord he wanted to stay with Him to worship Him (8:38). But Jesus said, "Return to your own house, and tell what great things God has done for you" (v.39). Will you apply Jesus' words to your life and tell someone of His grace and salvation—beginning at home? Don't put it off. Tell someone now about Jesus! —M. R. De Haan, M.D. To the work! To the work! Rabu, 6 April Pulang dan Ceritakanlah Pulanglah ke rumahmu dan ceritakanlah segala sesuatu yang telah diperbuat Allah atasmu (Lukas 8:39) Bacaan: 2 Samuel 9-12 Dua pria muda telah berteman sejak kecil. Pria yang satu kristiani, yang lainnya bukan. Pria yang kedua sebentar lagi akan berlayar jauh, dan yang kristiani terdorong untuk berbicara kepadanya mengenai Kristus sebelum ia pergi. “Saya akan melakukannya dalam perjalanan ke dermaga,” ia berjanji kepada dirinya sendiri. Namun saat mereka sampai di dermaga, ia masih belum melakukannya. Ia naik ke atas kapal untuk mengucapkan selamat tinggal, dan berpikir, “Saat kita membawa bagasi ke kamarnya, saya akan berbicara kepadanya.” Namun kuli mengambil semua bagasi dan koper, sehingga mereka tidak mengunjungi kabin. Akhirnya ia berkata kepada dirinya sendiri, “Saya akan bersaksi kepadanya di suatu tempat sepi sebelum kapal berangkat.” Namun, tiba-tiba terdengar pemberitahuan bahwa semua pengunjung harus turun dari kapal. Dua bulan kemudian terdengar kabar bahwa sang pria telah meninggal di luar negeri. Dalam Injil Lukas, kita membaca tentang seorang pria yang dirasuki banyak setan dan telah disembuhkan secara luar biasa oleh Yesus. Dengan penuh syukur kepada Tuhan ia ingin tinggal bersama-Nya untuk menyembah-Nya (8:38). Namun Yesus berkata, “Pulanglah ke rumahmu dan ceritakanlah segala sesuatu yang telah diperbuat Allah atasmu” (ayat 39). Apakah Anda bersedia menerapkan perkataan Yesus di dalam hidup Anda dan bercerita kepada seseorang tentang anugerah serta keselamatan-Nya? Anda dapat memulai hal itu dari rumah. Janganlah menunda-nunda. Ceritakanlah Yesus kepada seseorang, saat ini juga! —MRD TEMPAT APA PUN DAPAT MENJADI TEMPAT YANG TEPAT UNTUK BERSAKSI 8:39 "Pulanglah ke rumahmu dan ceriterakanlah segala sesuatu yang telah diperbuat Allah atasmu."
