Hi group,
I just had an email near-death experience: Entourage would give me a type 2
system error on startup. Then, any Office program would refuse to start. I'm
running OS 9.1 on a G4. I was stuck. The only MS app that would still launch
was IE.
After trashing/moving the file in the Microsoft User Data folder and in the
office folder in the preferences folder, I ressorted to desinstalling (with
the Uninstall Office program) and reinstalling Office.
After I moved all my preferences and mail files back, everything seems to
work fine, except that I lost my account list (I have a bad case of "what
was that password again" syndrome).
Now the questions:
Can anyone can point me to where the accounts settings should be living?
Does anyone knows what might have cause that sudden Office meltdown? This is
a brand new system and I have installed many new apps in the last week, it
makes precise troubleshooting very hard for me.
Before anyone asks, I don't have rules with more that 10 criterias. That was
the only reference to the case of type 2 errors I could find in the
archives.
