You know, Paul, sticking your head in the sand won't actually make the issue
go away... Seriously, I have seen quite a few users that have come on this
list that have had the problem in their mail database becoming
non-responsive. Some were able to be helped by rebuilds, some were not. One
noticeable one mentioned on this list his migration to Eudora, after Eudora
was able to recover his data. I recall you usually being one of the first to
advocate the rebuild of the database as a cure (not always effective) when a
user posted these symptoms of mail db buh-bye - so I find it curious that
you now claim that not a single user ever had any issues, ever.
The point, and it seems obvious in need of making, is that efforts to
pretend this is not a problem by claiming silence, or ignorance won't fix
it. This is an issue - if it were not, SR1 would not have made efforts to
address it (and, as I said, I acknowledge the progress being made in that
respect), but as this keeps coming up every now and then, it seems apparent
that such stability *IS* a concern to users. Pretending it's not happening
is disingenius.
