The plot sounds similar to the Miazaki animated film 'Princess Mononoke'
"The plot centers on the struggle between the animal spirits who inhabit
the forest and the humans who exploit the forest for industry."

I highly recommend this Miasaki film. Not to worry, foresters aren't
depicted as villains, it's all about out of control human needs and
learning to balance and mitigate our impact. It is a very beautiful film
with a strong spiritual undercurrent.
