Hi Dan,
Greenspun review was about the Elan 7 which does not have ECF. He admits
to owning EOS 5 and EOS 3 cameras, but leaves the ECF switched off.
Sorry, I know of no data on the shutter lag for the EOS 7 vs EOS 7E.
I expect it to be somewhere between the EOS3 (55/191ms) and Rebel G
(144/200ms). See:
http://www.lightningtrigger.com/
http://www.lightningtrigger.com/CameraCompatibility6/CameraCompatibility6.htm
The response times for ECF are listed at:
http://www.canon.com/camera%2Dmuseum/tech/report/200010/200010.html
220ms EOS 5 (A2E)
120ms EOS 55 (Elan IIE), EOS IXE
65ms EOS 3
55ms EOS 7 (Elan 7E, EOS 30)
Cheers
Julian Loke
