Oh ya. If you will always be at 5 star resorts, taking taxis, and never going
off the beaten path, nor going to countries of the third world, then by all
means take your expensive lenses. I, however love to really get away from
civilization when possible and abhor 5 star hotels.

You have to ask yourself what the purpose of your vacation is and what you would
need an L lens for. I mean if you won't be selling any of your photo but just
want precious memories, the L lenses will simply be weighing you down and
worrying you when you should be relaxing and travelling light.
