Below is a response I got concerning Eds recent check ride. He was kind
enough to allow me to share it with the list. Please stop hitting me, I'm
starting to get mushy.

Bill,
Go head and post it for others to read. I don't
want to give my ID as to where etc. except to say it was on the West
coast.

Hi Ed.
That's great news
and thanks so much for passing it along. I have been getting beat up
pretty good out here and this was a refreshing change. Would it be ok if
this was posted to the list? I know that others have had a similar
experience, but yours being so recent might help someone currently struggling
with this. If you prefer to keep this private, I certainly
understand.
Thanks again and enjoy your
flying!
Bill

.Bill,
I am 80 and got my pp in my 415c at the age of 78
with no restriction. The test was given by a very strict examiner. I followed
the golden rule. Don't ask don't tell and greased that puppy in on the final
landing.

Dan:
In no way was I trying to belittle Kim’s
question. My point was that the most expeditious way to
get a pilots license in a coupe without restrictions may be to not ask so
many
questions. There are clearly folks out there who took
their check ride in a coupe without any restrictions being put on their
license. Examiners I have talked to tell me in the oral
exam and check rides
they are basically trying to figure out if you are going to be a safe
pilot. My suggestion would be to give them a chance to do
that and don’t force them to add restrictions that they otherwise may not
be
inclined to add. Again, I’m sure this is a minority
view.
Respectfully,
Bill
