We are seeing the same thing at work. Three years ago, our outlets had two conversions and a Solectria Force. Two years ago, an electric motorcycle joined the group. Last year, the first Leaf. Today, we have 4 Leafs, 2 electric motorcycles and 2 Volts that charge occasionally, in addition to the original vehicles. The new vehicles are starting to need Level 2 charging where most of the older vehicles couldn't use much more than the 110V 20A outlets.
It is good to see the EV adoption, but we have to realize that it won't be conversions as much in the future. Still great to see the progress, though. I was able to drive a Tesla Model S last weekend. I understand the appeal completely! As soon as I can figure out how to pay for one, I will get one. As we go through this transition, it is important to treat the new EV owners well. Even if they do sometimes believe the new technology started with their purchase. 8^).
