That is where I see the real value of E-bike, my mom got hers 2 years ago when she did not yet want to commit to knee replacement surgery, but could no longer make all the trips around town on her old bike (she prefers to use her car as little as possible for short trips and so the majority of her around-town trips are by bicycle). She will soon turn 75. I borrowed her E-bike a couple times when I wanted to make a 55 miles round-trip commute that you can either do by driving on jam-packed freeways, or ride bike through the fields and along canals, so I opted several days to bike it with E-assist.
