That's not a problem anymore either, once you get a monitor which will pivot and is large enough to show the full page at legible size. I've got a SyncMaster 204B which does exactly that when I need it, so that limitation is gone, too.

I agree that the tools shouldn't make a difference, but I think that in subtle ways they do make a difference. For some, they make a major difference, for others, just minor differences which have no real effect on the final output.

But the big question is whether any difference the tools makes is a good difference or a bad difference.

And that isn't possible to ascertain in any global manner. For some, the use of a computer opens up new possibilities while for others the need to wrestle with the technology restricts them.

And the best keep right on being the best, regardless of the tools or the medium.
